Bio:

“Katherine Hughes, JD, MSW, LICSW is a clinical social worker and attorney with over 20 years of experience working in juvenile court mental health clinics with youth and their families.  She has also practiced law as a legal services attorney, representing women leaving violent relationships.  She is passionate about connecting parents and caregivers with information and resources about childhood trauma so that traumatized children, and their families, receive the help and support that they need to heal, grow and thrive.  She lives near Boston, Massachusetts and can be reached at hughesk.pctr@gmail.com.

Katherine gathered volunteers from the Boston University School of Public Health, the Boston University School of Social Work, the Child Trauma Training Center at UMass Medical School, the Parent/Professional Advocacy League, and two parent focus groups, to create the pamphlet, “Understanding Childhood Trauma and Your Family.”  It was recently redesigned and translated into eight languages by the Family Resource Centers of Massachusetts and can be found at their website:  https://www.frcma.org/about/trauma-and-resilience-resources-and-training

Bio:

“Alison Morris is a certified, accredited “trauma mama!” As the single adoptive mom of a child with attachment and developmental trauma challenges, Alison started looking for answers, and one of the answers she found was Emotional Freedom Techniques, otherwise known as EFT or Tapping. Alison created Full Potential Parenting to help other parents of children with emotional and behavioral challenges understand what’s really going on with their children and what’s going on for them. Through the Full Potential Parenting Summit and the Full Potential Parenting Show, she interviews providers, doctors, therapists, and parents about non-pharmaceutical approaches to healing, and she offers individual coaching and group tapping classes so parents can make friends with their own emotions, and thereby provide a safe and compassionate space for their children to express their big feelings.”
