Jonathan Arenburg
Canadian author, speaker, and trained counsellor — explores the neuroscience of depression, anxiety, and PTSD through both lived experience and professional insight.
He is the creator of The Road to Mental Wellness, a widely read blog and book chronicling his personal journey with PTSD and depression, and Wired to Be Human, a science-informed exploration of how our evolved biology collides with modern life.
Jonathan spent 15 years in the fire service and 18 years at the Kings Regional Rehabilitation Centre, where he supported individuals with cognitive delays, trauma, and mental illness. These experiences — combined with his own struggles with PTSD and depression — ground his writing in a blend of human experience and biological science.
Now retired from front-line service, Jonathan continues his advocacy through his books, website jonathanarenburg.com, and speaking engagements. His focus remains consistent: making mental health conversations meaningful, accurate, and empowering by connecting personal truth with neuroscience.
