Bio:

“Tryshe Dhevney is a Sound Energy Expert, Author, International Speaker and Best-selling Sounds True Crystal Bowl Recording Artist. Honored by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Tryshe has been acknowledged for her talent as an actor, director and praised for her musical compositions and collaborations. Today she is a repeat presenter offering prescriptive sound strategies with the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine Fellows and medical students.

Tryshe’s work and teaching have been inspired by her own personal healing journey from a potentially fatal illness to complete health. In May 2000, Tryshe’s doctors informed her that there was no longer anything they could do to treat her advanced hepatitis C and liver disease and advised her to get her affairs in order. Four months later, doctors were mystified when tests revealed she was disease-free. Tryshe had healed herself through the power of sound.

Today Tryshe is recognized as an authority in the field of harmonic and vocal sound healing. For over three decades, she has pioneered and refined her highly effective sound energy healing and toning technique called SoundShifting™.

Tryshe’s method for whole body transformation, inspires individuals to use their own voice to create wellbeing in their lives, and teaches simple techniques and attitudes that put health, wealth and wholeness within anyone’s grasp. In addition to developing her highly acclaimed SoundShifting™ technology, Tryshe has created the nationally recognized Life Scripting Process, combining traditional theatre, recovery therapy and spiritual disciplines to achieve living art for social change. Her innovative peer-to-peer approach to addiction, prevention and education has brought her to the national stage once again.

Her book, SOUNDShifting: Your Personal Guide to Self-Healing with Sound, shares her personal story and describes the tonal techniques that impacted her life, and the lives of many others.

Tryshe Dhevney is a dynamic and active teacher, healer and recording artist frequently featured at spiritual music festivals and conferences nationwide. She is also the creator of the Crystal SoundENERGY Practitioner™ Training series in Tucson, AZ. Where she lives with her husband of 25 years.”

You can also catch soundbites of our insightful interview on YouTube.

Bio:

“Director, Amy Erickson, grew up near Detroit in the 60s in a family of singers. This, along with the music of Motown and Burt Bacharach blaring on her kitchen radio helped her learn to sing by ear. She also loved to dance and stared working at age 13 to take jazz lessons.  These, combined with her introduction to musical theatre as a child, nurtured Amy’s love of the performing arts. But in her 20s, the singing and dancing stopped due to the impact of early-childhood trauma. The physical and emotional pain kept her shut down. Then, in her 40s, she found the courage to perform in a musical theatre production and rediscovered the vitality she felt in her youth. This proved to be the first step of healing from PTS. Amy was inspired to create Visceral after working with the Community Resilience Initiative in Walla Walla in 2010. She also is trained as a traumatic-stress responder by First Aid Arts, Seattle, WA.

In 2017, Amy received a WA state Artist Trust Grant for Artists’ Projects for Visceral, and an Artist Residency at the Jack Straw Cultural Center, Seattle.

And yes, she still sings and dances! Since 2010 she’s performed in six musical productions, continues to sing with a community choir, and takes musical theatre dance classes. For her, movement, voice, and social engagement through the performing arts continue to be life-giving forces.”

Bio:

Shelley Buck

“Shelley Buck was born into a creative family in the Midwest and moved to California after college to follow her dream of working for Disney. It was there she met and fell in love with her husband, Chris, who worked in animation. After they married and had their first child, Ryder, she stayed home to be a full-time mom to him and the two brothers who followed.

She is a storyteller and artist, which she expresses through her original jewelry at ShelRae Designs. When Ryder was diagnosed with cancer and the
journey went to unimaginable places, she poured her heart into writing their story. Her lessons in parenting through these tribulations, combined with the power of Ryder’s larger-than-life spirit, offer profound messages for living in the light.”

Kathy Curtis

“Kathy Curtis moved into Shelley’s neighborhood when they were both 12 years old and an instant, lifelong friendship took root. She has worked as a healing artist and writer since 1991. Her programs support the transformation of grief, illness, and
emotional barriers through creative expression. She is the author of Invisible Ink, a memoir about her own journey through grief. The unique writing process that brought her so much healing has since become a successful program, online and at various venues in the Midwest.

Kathy’s intimate connection to the Buck family, combined with her writing and healing background, made her the perfect person to partner with Shelley on the creation of this book.”

Ryder Buck

“Ryder Buck lived a short but charmed life on the west coast, where he practiced yoga, fell in and out of love, and formed an indie band, Ryder Buck & the Breakers,
that made waves all across the LA area. After a 9-month battle with cancer, Ryder
emerged disease-free and fearlessly followed his dreams of changing people’s lives
through his music. When tragedy met him on a dark highway, the light he had so
fiercely protected throughout his life became limitless. His words and songs continue to carry that light forward. Ryder received the Flame of Hope Award (posthumously) from a local cancer facility where he and his band played for cancer survivors.”

Bio:

Melanie Gibson began taekwondo training at age ten. At age twelve she stopped taekwondo to pursue other interests, and resumed training in her early thirties.

Although Melanie had academic and career achievements throughout her life, she struggled with mental illness and low self-esteem. After making some progress through psychiatric treatment and counseling, she knew she needed to do something more substantial to make lasting changes. Returning to taekwondo had always been in the back of her mind, and the timing was right.

Taekwondo proved to be not only an opportunity to re-learn a beloved skill from her childhood, but also a means to build her self-esteem and confidence, and heal from old wounds. It brought a needed excitement and purpose to her life, which she shares in her blog Little Black Belt (http://littleblackbelt.com). While continuing to work at her full-time job, Melanie dedicated herself to taekwondo training and earned her first degree black belt in 2015. In 2017, she earned her second degree black belt. Although a pandemic and knee injury sidelined her training in 2020, Melanie plans to return to taekwondo and test for her third degree black belt.

She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Texas Woman’s University, a Master of Library Science from the University of North Texas, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington. Melanie has worked in the healthcare industry since 2004, with roles as a hospital librarian, corporate trainer, and learning designer.

Bio:

Krista Nerestant is a practicing life coach, educated and certified in Neuro Linguistic Programming and The Satir Method of Transformational Systemic Therapy to heal family dynamics and trauma, and an advocate for women and children. She hosts a podcast, Self-Care Tuesdays, that is dedicated to encouraging, empowering and elevating the journey of self-care. She’s teaching women it’s OK to be “Self-ish”!

Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a psychological approach that involves analyzing strategies used by successful individuals and applying them to reach a personal goal. It relates thoughts, language, and patterns of behavior learned through experience to specific outcomes.

Proponents of NLP assume all human action is positive. Therefore, if a plan fails or the unexpected happens, the experience is neither good nor bad—it simply presents more useful information.

Satir’s Transformational Systemic Therapy Model (STST) is unique in encompassing both the intrapsychic and interactive components of therapy. Much therapy of the past has been focused only on clients’ behaviour, cognition or affect. The Satir Model is focused on the whole human being, tapping into their internal resources and universal yearnings to facilitate transformational change within their personal, family, and social systems. The Satir Model process facilitates development of increased levels of competence and congruence in the therapist.

STST processes are supported by therapeutic and neurobiological research. Evidence-based research supports experiential, systemic, positively directional and change focused therapeutic processes to bring about neurological changes in clients. STST emphasizes that therapists create and provide the conditions for attachment, hope, positive possibilities and safety in order to facilitate change.
